Concourse 3 at Dubai Airport

Concourse 3 at Dubai International Airport is on track to be unveiled in 2012.

Concourse 3 at Dubai Airport, (C3) which is part of the Terminal 3 building, is being constructed at a cost of Dh12.85bn ($3.5bn) and it will be the world’s first dedicated facility of its size for the Airbus A380 mega jumbo jet.

The new Concourse 3 at Dubai Airport (which will exclusively be used by Emirates Airlines) will be 90 metres wide and 645 metres long.

Once Concourse three has been completed, Dubai International Airport will be able to to boast an annual total passenger capacity from the current 60 million passengers to 75 million passengers.

Construction on Dubai Airport’s Concourse 3 Terminal building began in 2008 and consists of a total built-up area of 528,000mĀ² that will include 20 aircraft contact gates, 18 of which will be dedicated to A380, and 6 gates for remote stands.

It will be a complete airside structure that will be connected to the 2 major public levels of Concourse 2 and Terminal 3 with an automated people mover (APM).

The new Concourse at Dubai Airport will be partially built underground with its lower and upper levelsĀ  connected by means of a special vertical transportation system (sky trains).

While the Arrival and Departure levels of Concourse 3 will be similar to Concourse 2, the first and business class areas of Concourse 3 will be split up and located one above the other and below the level of the hotel which will also include a health club and a business centre.
