The leading air travel services provider Dnata has opened a new dedicated lounge at Dubai Airport to enhance the special handling services it provides to passengers travelling through the airport.
The new lounge at Dubai Airport which is located within the Emirates Terminal 3 building operates 24 hours a day and caters for Emirates passengers who have reduced mobility and need additional assistance as they depart from Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport on flights to destinations worldwide.
6 dedicated and specially trained Dnata staff members are based in the lounge at Dubai Airport who are dedicated to serving and attending to customers while they wait to board their flights from Dubai. The new facility has been equipped with televisions and provides hot and cold beverages.
The dedicated Dnata lounge within Terminal 3 at Dubai Airport is positioned within close range to many of Dubai Airports Terminal 3 shopping and food outlets to make access for these facilities easier for these passengers. A dedicated duty free outlet is also being planned.
Dnata typically provides assistance to over 900 passengers with reduced mobility every single day with some passengers transiting through the terminal en route to other destinations or departing on international flights.
New Lounge at Dubai Airport
The new lounge at Dubai International Airport has more than 11,500 sq ft of space and improved facilities which is able to accommodate 250 passengers at any one time which also gives room for the growth in passenger demand that Dubai Airport anticipates in this sector over the next few years.
The Dnata lounge at Dubai Airport is conveniently located between concourses 1 and 2 at Dubai Airport which will reduce transit times and ensure a more comfortable and timely transition through Dubai International.
Another feature of the Dnata lounge location is that there is space to offer a direct buggy access as well as a dedicated screening machine and Arch Metal Detector (AMD) for the use of its passengers, thereby eliminating the waiting time for its customers at regular security screening points which is often busy during peak hours.
Bill Rushton, vice president – property, Dubai Airports said:
“The comfort of all our customers is very important to us and therefore we welcome the opening of the new dedicated lounge for passengers with special needs.”
“The facility complements our other initiatives for individuals with special needs at Dubai Airport, such as special car parking spaces near entrances, alternative ramps for passengers who use wheelchairs, special toilets, dedicated immigration counters for passengers at Dubai Airport with reduced mobility and elevators with audio guidance and Braille labels.
