The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of the Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Dubai Metro’s Green Line experimental operational phase.
During the launch, Sheikh Mohammed described the Dubai Metro as yet another one of Dubai’s achievements added to the many that the emirate has made possible. He said the Metro in Dubai is a strategic project and said that all of Dubai’s strategic projects are going ahead.
Sheikh Mohammed boarded the Dubai Metro from the Dubai Healthcare City in a trip that took him to Khalid bin Waleed, Al Ghubaiba, Al Ras and Al Ittihad Stations, where the Dubai Metro Green and Red lines meet. He continued his trip from Al Ittihad station to Police Headquarters Station to the last etisalat Station in Al Qusais district.
The inauguration of the Dubai Metro Green Line was also attended by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibai, Director of the court of the Ruler of Dubai, Lt General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Commander-In-Chief, Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Jumaa Al Maktoum, Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman and Executive Director of Roads and Transports Authority (RTA) and other officials.
