Flights from Dubai to Geneva
The 1st June 2011 saw Emirates expand its European network by adding Geneva to its list of destinations served from its hub at Dubai Airport. The daily flights from Dubai to Geneva will be operated by a combination of Boeing 777-200LR and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The aircraft will be consist of a 3 class configuration which will offer First Class Private Suites, lie-flat seats in Business Class and a spacious cabin in Economy Class.
This now represents Emirates’ second Swiss destination after Zurich, which the airline began serving in 1992 and now provides flights from Dubai to Zurich twice daily. Passengers in all classes will be able to sit back and enjoy the popular ice entertainment system, along with gourmet-chef prepared meals served by multi-national cabin crew
Tim Clark, Emirates’ President, said:
“This launch, in particular, has a strong international feel about it linking Dubai as a global aviation hub and centre for business and tourism with Geneva, a home to so many international organisations and an important financial and banking centre.”
Each flight is also expected to have capacity for 15-20 tonnes of cargo, much of which is expected to be used by the luxury sector, which stands for the majority of the region’s exports. The cargo manifest for the first Geneva to Dubai flight includes fashion items, perfumes, pharmaceuticals, electronics and relief goods.
Flight EK 089 will leave Dubai Airport each day at 08.55hrs and arrive in Geneva at 13.45hrs. The flights from Geneva, EK 090 departs at 15.15hrs, arriving in Dubai at 23.30hrs.
