Emirates and JetBlue agree new partnership

Emirates and JetBlue Airways have announced plans to form a partnership to allow passengers to take flights with each airline with a single ticket.

Passengers taking flights to Dubai and other destinations with the 2 airlines will also be able to benefit from joint check-in and baggage transfer services.

Emirates currently offers 2 daily flights from New York to Dubai International Airport and the new alliance means that passengers will now be able to connect with JetBlue services to Auckland, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Nairobi, Singapore, Sydney and a number of Indian cities.

“Our new partnership with JetBlue will enable customers from across the United States to connect quickly and easily to Emirates’ extensive network of worldwide destinations,” said Nigel Page, senior vice-president of commercial operations for Americas and Africa.

Emirates airline recently revealed a rise in profits for the first half of 2010 to $925 million (£577 million) compared to $205 million (£127.8 million) in the same period last year.
