Haute cuisine
It was only going to be a matter of time before hospitality in Dubai reached dizzying new heights, as the world’s ‘highest restaurant’ opens in January 2011. 2 levels beneath the observation deck, atop the towering Burj Khalifa, the restaurant ‘Atmosphere’ will serve its grill room concept cuisine against a backdrop of incredible vistas. Lunch, drinks and dinner will all be on offer at the restaurant, which is owned by Emaar Hospitality Group’s (EHG) new Lifestyle Dining division. It’s sure to be a big hit with guests at EHG’s other venture in Burj Khalifa – the Armani Hotel.
Into the Blu
The Rezidor Hotel Group has revealed that the Radisson Blu Hotel in Downtown Dubai will open in early 2011. The property is Rezidor’s fourth Radisson Blu Hotel in the emirate. The hotel will be located on the upper floors of a mixed use building located within walking distance of Dubai Mall and 10 kilometres from Dubai Airport. It comprises 198 contemporary rooms and 22 suites that are all equipped with Radisson Blu signature services such as free high speed internet access. Guests will also benefit from an all day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant, a pub and 2 bars, including a rooftop pool bar.
Park life
This month Dubai welcomes a fabulous 4 star hotel to its stellar hospitality landscape. Set right in the historical district of Bur Dubai, the Park Regis Kris Kin is ideally situated for guests looking to enjoy some of the Dubai’s cultural attractions. But there’s nothing old fashioned about this stylish, modern hotel, which features 392 spacious guest rooms. There’s free Wi-Fi, extensive conference and banqueting facilities, a wine bar, 3 international restaurants and even a rooftop pool. It’s guaranteed to make a splash!
Here comes the sun
Congratulations to Southern Sun’s Al Manzil Hotel, which was last month declared the ‘Hotel Team of the Year’ at the prestigious Hotelier Middle East Awards 2010. The staff at this fantastic downtown hotel might be some of the best, but so are the facilities. Not only is Al Manzil a 5 minute walk from Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall, but the 4 star contemporary property has excellent business facilities, making it a popular venue for small to medium-size conferences. It’s sister hotel Qamardeen is equally well located in downtown Dubai and popular with style savvy business and leisure travellers. Back in June it was awarded the very first Dubai Green Tourism Award in the 4-star category by the DTCM, reflecting its excellent facilities which include an outdoor, temperature-controlled swimming pool and pool deck and commitment to the environment.
